Haligonians notice anything familiar on the cover of this week’s edition of The Coast? With Animinitime coming up this weekend we’ve made the cover – snazzy manga effects and all! If you’re unable to pick up a physical copy of the free weekly publication, you can check it out digitally online as well.

Also via The Coast we’re pleased to officially announce our attendance number: 500! That means that 500 fans from around the province (and some beyond!) have pre-registered for Animinitime Halifax, selling our show out a month in advance. A big thanks again to everyone for the support and enthusiasm and we can’t wait to see all of you there!

Only 2 days left until Animinitime! And don’t forget about Saturday’s pre-con Super Picnic which will include the popular cosplay masquerade and lots of friendly faces to hang out with.

Article Correction Note: The Cowboy Bebop movie event will take place on the evening of Saturday, April 24 (midnight) – not Friday as published. Tickets are available at Strange Adventures, the Super Picnic and at the Parklane theatre a half-hour prior to the show, while supplies last.

Eager to know what kind of events we’ll be having at Animinitime Halifax? Ponder no longer! You can now head on over to the Events page for the complete schedule. Descriptions of each event will be available in your registration books upon picking up your badge at the convention with the book’s handy in-book schedule as well.

Along with our event schedule we also have two new confirmed vendors for our Halifax event – Quantum Frontier and BigPfeiffer! Both are returning vendors from Animaritime 2009 and we’re thrilled to have them back for Animinitime. You can check out our vendors page for the current list of vendors attending.

And lastly (for today!), our thanks go out to two new sponsors for Animinitime – Funimation and Tokyopop! Expect lots of goodies from them at the conventions from both our events and vendors.

Only 11 days left until Animinitime Halifax!

Registration for Animinitime Halifax closed at midnight this past Wednesday (March 31st, 2010) and we’re excited to announce a sold-out show! A big thank you to everyone who registered and we look forward to seeing everyone there for what promises to be a fun time! A special thank you goes out to Strange Adventures who played a huge role in ensuring registration for the event was as easy and convenient as possible for our attendees.

Please note that as previously stated in the event of sold-0ut badges, this means there will be no at-con registration available for Animinitime.

Tickets for our midnight showing of Cowboy Bebop the movie are still available and our Halifax Super Picnic remains an open to the public event. Badge purchases are also still available for Animinitime Moncton on July 17th!

Only 6 more days to register – where is the time going? I hope everyone’s getting excited! We’ve got lots of fun news and information coming your way over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned.

Today we have information a lot of you have been requesting – the details on Anime@Large’s Super Picnic! Animinitime is partnering with the Halifax anime/cosplay club to bring you a day of Spring-time fun out on the Halifax commons as a pre-cursor to Animinitime Halifax – including the cosplay masquerade! A reminder also that our Great Pre-Con Giveaways are also still on-going. A congratulations to our first winner, William Crooks, for his new copy of the Twilight graphic novel. Tonight’s giveaway is a double-pass to the April 24th theatre showing of Cowboy Bebop the Movie! One month from today until Animinitime Halifax!

Anyone else finding it hard to believe that it’s mid-March already? This means there’re only two weeks left to pre-register for Animinitime Halifax and only a little under 6 weeks until the event itself!

Along with our wish for everyone to have a fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day today, we’re also eager to commence with some surprise treats for all our Halifax pre-registrants! Starting tonight, we’ll be giving away some anime/manga goodies to our attendees – yay for prizes!

By popular request, we’ve decided to extend the pre-registration time for Animinitime Halifax. Pre-registration for Halifax’s event is now open until March 31st – including the special discount rate for attending both conventions!
